Holidays are for giving--NYSM Fundraiser to help friends in need~!!
NYSM is fundraising for a very special family. "Modern Drummer" Rick Van Horn’s wife, Crystal, has been recently diagnosed with Leukemia. Rick has been always been there for us & its time to GIVE BACK to the Van Horn family as they go through this incredibly difficult time in the fight of Crystal's life. Please keep the Van Horn family in your prayers and if possible, we ask that you send a donation made payable to the Crystal Van Horn Emergency Fund to: New York School of Music, 42B Orchard Street, Walden, NY 12586.

'Tis the Season at NYSM~!!
Look for NYSM at the upcoming "Christmas on Main Street" festivities on the first three Thursdays in December (12/3, 12/10 and 12/17). In addition to our store being open until 9pm each of those nights, we will also have a booth on Main Street between the Bank Street traffic light and the VFW on the corner of Oak Street. Stop by for good times, student performances and extra special deals~!!
Any time is a great time to give the gift of music, but especially at Christmas. Lessons, instruments, accessories-- you can get it ALL at NYSM...and if you don't know exactly what to get, a NYSM gift card in ANY denomination will always fit anyone JUUUUST right.

The final performance of the Rock Camp 2009 season was held yesterday afternoon and it was SUCH a great time!! Thank you to everyone that helped make the 2009 camps such a huge success. The kids, the parents...friends, families...our sponsors... you ALL make it happen. THANK YOU!!!

Rock Camp Venue Announcement
It's with great excitement that we're proud to announce that All performances for the 2009 Summer Rock Camp Concert Series will be held on the PEAVEY STAGE at the ORANGE COUNTY CHOPPERS HEADQUARTERS in Newburgh!! That's right...you've seen some of the hottest rock bands play on stage there--Saliva, P.O.D, Candlebox, Red.....and YOU!!!!
We've got FOUR sessions for you to sign up in Walden....and also available sessions in POUGHKEEPSIE, so all of our Dutchess County friends can easily experience Rock Camp, too!!! No matter which camp you attend, ALL performances will be LIVE on the Peavey stage at OCC!
NYSM Food Drive for the Food Bank of the Hudson Valley
For the next two-weeks, we will continue to accept non-perishable food donations at NYSM on behalf of the HV Food Bank. The Food Bank of the Hudson Valley is in need of these donations. The Food Bank serves more than 360 feeding programs in six counties. Last year, the Food Bank distributed more than 7 million pounds of food right here in the Hudson Valley. If possible, we'd like to ask each of our students bring at least one non-perishable food item with them to their weekly lesson to donate to this incredibly worthy cause. Canned vegetables, small bags of whole grain rice and pasta, and other healthy foods are suggested and definitely appreciated.
