Acoustic Tuesday Concert Series

Wednesday, 21 March 2012 13:28 | Written by NYSM | PDF | Print | E-mail

Quarter Note Cafe and New York School of Music have teamed up to be the next hot spot for live local music...

Check out the line-up for our new acoustic series on Tuesday nights. Dinner specials are served all evening, music is 6-8 pm. See you there!

June 28th: Bryan Gordon

Bryan Gordon has been writing and performing music on the east coast for over 30 years. His music and stories of life's everyday struggles draw from various genres to create a blend of hook ladden rock/folk that is uniquely his own.
In November of 2010 Bryan released his first solo album "Heroes, Fools and Saints" on Babyland Records.

First Tuesday of Every Month! TANAGER

Tim Porco, Jimmy Reber, and Rosie Rion have had the pleasure of making music together for the last two years. By reaching into the genres of classic country, blues, and rock 'n' roll, Tanager hope to be a part of the Americana movement, which steps away from the overproduced music of our day and seeks to bring organize, homegrown music to the spotlight. Featuring original material, as well as fun and familiar covers, this band just wants everybody to have a good time listening to their set!

Second Tuesday of Every Month! MARJI ZINTZ

www.marjizintz.com

With a voice that has been likened to Joni Mitchell, Eva Cassidy and even "Shawn Colvin-meets-Ani DiFranco," Marji Zintz is a solo vocalist/arranger/acoustic guitarist who is also one third of the musical entity GaiaWolf. She has performed and recorded as a soloist and in duet settings in the jazz and folk genres with various bassists, such as Mike Richmond, Jay Anderson, Steve Roane, Vin Warner, and Joseph Pelletier, and in larger ensembles with Jim Kunkel, Wil Greenstreet, and Ron Wilson as well as with E.C. Lorick and Dawn Casteel-Lorick in GaiaWolf.

Third Tuesday of Every Month! KYLE MILLER

Kyle on MySpace

I began playing the guitar several years ago and began playing harmonica soon after that. After cutting my teeth on classic rock and the like I discovered folk and blues music. The discovery opened up my eyes to what I consider the bedrock of american music: folk, blues, rock n' roll, and country. My interest in those genres would ultimately lead to my many attempts at writing my own songs. In 2008, I released an album of original songs entitled "Better Off." Since that disc I have continued to write songs but have not compiled another disc. I hope to do so soon and I also hope to put a band together of like minded, capable musicians. This search is proving difficult however. I have also been continuing to perform in order to develop my own distinct style as both writer and performer.
