Becky Saxe began playing piano at the young age of four and continued in her classical training until the age of 18. During that time, she was privileged to sit under the instruction of Vladimir Feltsman through seminars offered at the State University of New Paltz. Becky then enlisted in the United States Marine Corps as a Marine Musician. After graduating from the Armed Forces School of Music, she served in the Marine Band playing piano and percussion. She has performed for governors, senators, and various military generals all across the country, including having had the honor to perform for Vice President Dan Quayle. After her enlistment, Becky earned a Bachelor of Science degree in teaching from SUNY New Paltz followed by a Master of Science Degree in Elementary Education from Mount St. Mary College. She has taught music history, music appreciation, and chorus in the elementary, junior high, and high school settings. The past 15 years have given her opportunity to sing at coffee houses, patriotic events, and church concerts throughout New York City, the Hudson Valley, and Central New York. She is currently the Coordinator of Music at Leptondale Bible Church in Newburgh, NY. Becky looks forward to sharing her love of singing and piano with music students of all ages, backgrounds, and styles at the New York School of Music.
