learning with Band Camp at C.O.C. Music!!
We are offering two band programs for Summer 2007:
(1) Youth Summer Band Camp for students in grades 5-8
(2) Jumpstart for beginners in 3rd & 4th grade
4-week session***:
Week 1: July 9-12
Week 2: July 16-19
NO REHEARSALS OR LESSONS DURING 7/23-7/26
Week 3: July 30-Aug 2
Week 4: Aug 6-Aug 9
Performance at Wooster Grove on August 10th, 6:30pm!!

Cost: $240 per student for 4 weeks.
Sessions: Monday-Thursday 11:30am - 1:00pm
Students will play together as a concert band. Emphasis will be on working together to produce a quality sound, listening/playing in tune, as
well as reading rhythms and keeping time. The music chosen is designed to be fun, yet offer a challenge for all.
1. Student must have at least 2 years participation in a school band program and/or recommendation from their teacher, along with their own instrument.
2. Complete an informal audition consisting of 3 memorized scales, a prepared etude of your choice and a short sight-reading exercise.
3. Commit to a MINIMUM OF 80 MINUTES of practicing at home per week (that's only 20 minutes per day!!)
4. You must commit to all 4 weeks. Other participants will be counting on you!
5. Tuition must be paid in full prior to the start of the camp.
Cost: $200 per student for 4 weeks.
Cost includes four (4) half hour private lessons and eight (8) 45-minute group sessions. Group sessions
will meet on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10am - 10:45am. Focus will be on reading rhythm/pitch, proper breathing, proper assembly and care of the instrument, proper tone
production, learning to play together and listening to one another.
1. Commit to AT LEAST 60 MINUTES of practice at home each week
2. Have an instrument in good working order, lesson book and all needed accessories.
3. Commit to being involved for all 4 weeks.
4. Tuition must be paid in full prior to the start of the camp.
